Wednesday, February 14, 2024 - Symbolic, drinking the Prisoner 4 weeks to the day after my breakup with E. from... California and on Valentine's Day.

Unfortunately, this is rather a caricature. No finesse, big boned, overly fruity, nearly like fruit juice (blueberry dominant), overly oaked with overly toasted oak. A cross between a fruit juice and oak tea? I may be exaggerating, but then isn't this what this wine is all about? Exaggeration?

Anyhow, a matter of taste, but this is not remotely my taste. Fortunately, while in California I did taste better local wines, including some really nice and well balanced wines, but as a general preference, I still prefer old-world wines.
