90 Points

Sunday, March 4, 2012 - Big wine that really needed a solid two hours plus in a decanter to open up.
Dark spicy berries at the core. Strong aroma of darker cocoa nibs, some dark rocky elements as well as a really gripping mid palate.
The finish was a bit hot which is what kept this wine from crossing into truly great juice.
It's interesting how this bottling doesn't posses the savory meaty quality I look for in Red Mountain Syrah.
