Friday, September 16, 2022 - Chablis Grand Cru - the Jewel in the Crown (Hong Kong): Cote Bouguerots is a 1 hectare lieu dit within 15 hectare Bourgos climat. Belongs to Herriot Champagne. Bougros derived from Latin word Bucca meaning mouths of the river and refers to a narrowing of the river Serein. Soil is clay and marks with Kimmeridgian.
Wine is aged 14-15 months in stainless & used oak barrels, 5-6 months on lees.

1 hour slow oxidation in bottle. Nose of citrus, green apple, retrained minerality, perhaps a little tastiness. A little apricot and pineapple indicates that the fruit captured the sun.
Palate very ripe but balanced fruit & acidity indicated well placed soil vis-a-vie the sun. Buttery and smooth with a crispness. Reasonable finish.
