Thursday, April 16, 2020 - The bottle, stored in ideal conditions since release, was in perfect condition. The wine was medium garnet in colour and offered red fruit, red cherry, rose petal, earthy notes and tobacco on the nose and palate, complemented by mild herbal, mineral and balsamic notes, with great acidity, partly resolved tannin and very good length. The medium-bodied wine had average complexity, but good balance, and was much more youthful than expected. It developed at a glacial pace and became more complex and interesting and drank best on day three. So much for Barbarescos generally aging more quickly than Barolos. I would love to try another bottle in ten years... (91)
