Tuesday, October 5, 2004 - Opened on the 5th and drunk straight from the bottle: the wine was really closed and clearly not showing its potential. At that stage it was quite comparable to a good CdR: nice nose, monolithic palate, short finish. I could really feel the alcohol in the wine and I only drank a couple of glasses. On the 6th, after one day in the fridge, the wine was much better: really nice grenache nose, slightly spicy but still very much on the fruit. The palate was starting to evolve with at the same time nice fruit and then some chocolate aromas. Nice structure and the alcohol was very well integrated into the wine. The finish was much longer than on the previous day. Yummy: I actually finished the bottle by myself in the course of the evening. I would advise to wait for a couple more years before it is really ready to drink, right now it is still very much on primary aromas. If consumed now I would advise at least 2 hours of decanting.
