  • Last of bottles purchased on release in late 2002. On pop and pour tawny edge to medium- red/brown middle color. Just a hint of fruit aromas. Mainly beef broth, mushroom, soy sauce, and black olive aromas that follow through in the mouth with medium intensity. Good acid balance and resolved tannins. With air some black cherries and raspberries come and go. Based on this, drink up! :)

Now after 24 hours in the frig and a quick warm
up to room temp, the black cherry fruit has come forward, now playing a roughly equal part to stewed fruit components and savory and other tertiary attributes, and beef broth now playing a noteable but small role. Spicy pepper is at the end of the long finish.

  • Medel tegelbrun.

  • Very interesting nose of black olive, Iron towards Beef blood, dark cherry. Mature, but charmingly so. This is such an interesting example of a medium bodied Southern Rhone wine.
Aromatics +, medium acidity, the finish medium to long. A wine to savor in the glass.

  • Still holding up well under a pristine cork. Balanced and easy.

  • One of the first bottles I bought back in 2003 - 229 SEK (US$ 25). Cork was a bit messy to pop, had to filter the wine. Somewhat light and silk for a CdP, definitely not over the top. Very pleasant, much better than anticipated. Drank with lamb, risotto and baked tomatoes.
