Monday, November 2, 2020 - After trying the 2018, (9/6/2020) here is the 2019 at a massive 14% ABV.
This entry level wine comes from parcels other than the five single vineyard offerings, all owned by the Domaine.Converting to biodynamic.
Colour: pale gold, bright, clear.
Nose: still quite closed, develops good, ripe raw gooseberry, cut grass, taut and elegant.
Taste: light body, rounded, notable acidity leads the ripe fruit but there is a good balance between the two, gooseberries, citrus, long finish, mouthwateringly dry, gooseberries.
Overall, an infant still, taut in structure and acidity but backed by ripe fruit. Clearly needs time and surprisingly wears its alcohol lightly. The perfect antidote to overblown New World SB in its elegant precision.
