Wednesday, November 30, 2022 - Piemonte: Back to the truffling!; 11/24/2022-12/3/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Our first Monvigliero of the trip which feels a bit like a miss but there is not so much of it around or to go around these days. It’s the classic stem-character - perhaps tea leaves, great fruit, more interesting and then just very light on its feet. Bright with a lot of depth of flavor. Always a favorite.

12/1/2022 3:39:00 AM - A miss because it was our first bottle and we were almost a week into our trip (not a lot of selection in many of the restaurants - I think a lot sold out). The wine was amazing. Just had the 2019 (note to come) and that is SUPER impressive. His wines are always good though.

12/1/2022 7:13:00 AM - I was thinking of letting the 2017 sleep a lot longer. A mistake? Was thinking of giving more time for the tannin to soften, but I don't see you mentioning tannin in the note. Great notes btw, thanks!
