Tuesday, April 12, 2016 - Drank at WWS Northern Rhone tasting. Age showing a bit at the edges of the wine. Nose of flowers and bricks. Black fruit (plums) well-preserved. Still a bit tannic--softening but still evident. Great complexity here: Lots of pepper, black licorice, and forest floor elements. An intense wine, that nonetheless exhibits wonderful balance & harmonious elements. This is a surprisingly delicious wine that has stood the test of time. WOTN, of course.
