Saturday, April 8, 2017 - Still a very saturated ruby-garnet with minimal lightening at the rim.
Took a good 30-45 minutes in decanter to open properly. Slightly oxidized nose is a real bummer, bc the palate is good! Medium-full bodied with plenty of tannin. No longer stern, but still well put-together and tannic. This hasn't gained as much complexity with age as I hoped it would. There's some over-ripe fruit that seems to have oxidized and only hints of mint. IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE CORK WAS VERY DRY AND CRUMBLED DURING REMOVAL. Hopefully this is simply an off bottle. I will treat as such and not rate. (But this still deserves a rating in the mid-80s as there is a lot to like here)
