Friday, June 10, 2022 - One of our favorites; possibly the best value wine that we have. We have drunk a lot of this: as others have said, it’s a perfect “house wine” to go with meals or have on its own. At $14 or so, the value is fantastic.
The nose on this wine is surprisingly good and complex for how inexpensive it is, especially if you give it a bit of time to open up. On the palate, it is light, easy to drink, and has a classic Nebbiolo profile of cherries with enough tartness and acidity to keep it interesting. A slight astringency on the (short) finish. It is certainly more “simple” than Barolo, but it’s half (or less) the price.
