Tuesday, August 1, 2023 - This half-bottle was accidentally(?) left in our agriturismo when we arrived in Montalcino last year, so we took it home to enjoy later.

First sips from the bottle, super tight, sharp, tannic Brunello, no doubt about it. Letting it open up for an hour did wonders - rich, minerally, tobacco and flint and so much delightfulness. Instant nostalgia for the bottle we had with the 1.5kg Florentine steak at Il Grifo a year prior in Montalcino.
