91 Points

Wednesday, January 8, 2014 - Monthly Tasting Group HWS #085; Spain: Ribera del Duero. (by EvA): Chocolate, dark forest fruits, sweet spices and caramel in the bouquet. On the palate a very lush wine with ripe dark fruits, chocolate, herbs and some mint. Round tannin with still a firm bite. Modern made and a lot of everything in this concentrated wine. Many loved it, but the ones preferring classical style were a little less enthusiastic. Personally I love this wine, but it probably should age for another 3 - 5+ years to really show its merits. Harley1199, looking forward to your opinion ;-). 91+ for this evening.

I agree with your opinion. My drinking window for my only bottle is 2029, those five years you mentioned.
Aalto, probably the best seller Spanish wine in Finland, is that right Avp? perhaps you know why if not Google may help, is that kind of wine I don't care too much but am quite enthusiastic about CT mates TNs. Having nothing more than a couple of bottles I prefer to wait a little more before to pop them up. Anything more than an standard RdD? Somebody affirms that it is...
Cheers! Best regards, this time, from London.

I am not Finnish, but living in the same time zone as you…. I have two more bottles of this vintage and I am not sure yet when to open them, but I hope I can have the patience to wait.

    1/14/2014 1:10:00 AM - Hi again Zweder,
    So nice to read you.
Sorry for those misunderstandings... RdD is nothing more than Ribera de Duero and Avp is one of our CT mates, who is Finnish.
What I tried to present as paradoxical was this wine is a best-seller in Helsinki more for its label than the stuff contained in the bottle.
Btw, I always though you were from Holland, Belgium even but probably I'm wrong...
Finally about those two bottles remaining, it's just depending of your personal taste...if you want something softer or full of energy.
Still has a way to run, in my opinion
    Cheers,
