Sunday, January 16, 2022 - I have just newly discovered the Mercurey region Bourgogne after it was recommended and wow it did not disappoint. When poured this medium ruby had a quick set of tears. Aromas of dark berry fruits along with spice & earth notes reminded me of a solid Pinot Noir. On the palate tart dark fruits were detected. This was an extremely smooth wine with little tannins, incredible body, & not overly complex. What a great finish to this wine that in a bling taste test I would have guessed being a much older wine then its 2019 age. Certainly in my top 5 wine ranking over $30 that I will most definitely purchase again.
