Expressive nose of red cherries, cranberries, dried herbs and licorice. Medium bodied with balancing acidity, fine grained tannins with peppery finish. Very good mercurey.

Elegant, clean and refined ripe red fruits of cherries and redcurrant, toasted licorice and fresh fennel with a touch of pepper and leather. Palate is very balanced already. Everything is in harmony from entry to the finish which deep and lingering, with just a hint of tannins. This may not be as silky as some of the top burgundy, it’s balance and purity are its strengths. Drink now or keep for a few more years.

I have just newly discovered the Mercurey region Bourgogne after it was recommended and wow it did not disappoint. When poured this medium ruby had a quick set of tears. Aromas of dark berry fruits along with spice & earth notes reminded me of a solid Pinot Noir. On the palate tart dark fruits were detected. This was an extremely smooth wine with little tannins, incredible body, & not overly complex. What a great finish to this wine that in a bling taste test I would have guessed being a much older wine then its 2019 age. Certainly in my top 5 wine ranking over $30 that I will most definitely purchase again.

Nearly-ripe red and blue fruit, earthiness. Some stem inclusion. Enjoyable. QPR is maybe a little low, but reflects its from Burgundy.
