Wednesday, November 6, 2013 - World Wine Symposium 2013 - Kevin and Kelly's excellent adventure; 11/6/2013-11/14/2013 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Kelly and Orazio who are drink a lot of Sassicaia informed me that this is the second best wine of the 80s after the 85 and this didn’t disappoint. Beautifully matured yet remains fresh, lovely complex red fruits, a hint of licorice, rose, tar, lead pencil and flowers. Medium concentration, silky palate, good acidity and nicely integrated tannins. This is at its peak, not a big wine but showing beautiful harmony and complexity. Very enjoyable and another wine to seek at auction.
