Saturday, April 1, 2023 - Best of the Best of Oregon (K&L Wine Merchant - San Francisco): Aromas of a more intense forest funk but it knows how to walk properly (some of it blows away with time), once the funk goes away, the fruits clear up to become more like dark cherries with a touch of plums and red roses.

The palate was giving red cherries and a soft touch of plums, reflecting the palate completely. The funk is gentle and in the background, giving way to river stones and gentle earth.

This was more “classic” to me in a sense that this seemed more familiar to me, like a Pinot from then north coast. Compared to the other Pinots this was served next to, this slightly underperformed for its price point. Maybe this needs more air time.
