90 Points

Wednesday, December 6, 2023 - This wine jumps out of the glass with big red and black fruit, with a background spicy note from the Syrah. Balsamic vinegar, ground black pepper, nutmeg, a small vegetable sort of carrot smell, and a mild oaky smell (though i’m not sure if there is any on this wine). On the palate there big rip fruit of black currants and blackberry that needs a big fatty piece of beef. it’s quite hot at 14.8% abv and it’s perceptible when tasted. There is considerable structure here, medium acidity, and big tannins that will lend itself well to 8-10+ years of aging. I think as this wine ages it will become more balanced. For now the nose is pleasurable but the palate needs a bit more time in bottle. A we’ll crafted wine. Tasted from coravin. Overall: 90+
