Not in the drinking window that 2017 is, this wine wine could be drink now or held for more integration. Very promising for an entry level. Linear and more representative of the Paso blend. Like the 2017, just amazing balance here considering 15.5% alcohol.

One of the best Red Blends coming out of Paso. This wine has got tons of life for any bottles you might have laid down. Red fruit that is a little on the tart side. Big tannins, but don’t hinder the drinkability.

This wine jumps out of the glass with big red and black fruit, with a background spicy note from the Syrah. Balsamic vinegar, ground black pepper, nutmeg, a small vegetable sort of carrot smell, and a mild oaky smell (though i’m not sure if there is any on this wine). On the palate there big rip fruit of black currants and blackberry that needs a big fatty piece of beef. it’s quite hot at 14.8% abv and it’s perceptible when tasted. There is considerable structure here, medium acidity, and big tannins that will lend itself well to 8-10+ years of aging. I think as this wine ages it will become more balanced. For now the nose is pleasurable but the palate needs a bit more time in bottle. A we’ll crafted wine. Tasted from coravin. Overall: 90+

What a beautiful brambly red wine. Finished with a white pepper spice, moderate++ finish. Went very well with maple chicken barbecue and cilantro pork sausage. Delicious. Still going to be 10+ years before this one starts to show tertiary notes. 93.499
