Saturday, December 25, 2021 - First impression, a high quality glass bottle and a high quality cork you normally don't expect from a village wine (Ortswein) and normally only is used when bottling a GG.
PnP, 12% Alc., quite full yellow color.
Nose: Reduction, a bit green, flavors you normally associate with spontaneous fermentation and corresponding mineral impressions. Good, like it.
Palate: Fresh, a touch green with a dry mouthfeel. Concise acidity, the quite strong reduction hardly lets through any Riesling typical flavors. Nevertheless, drink animating, with a good balance and harmony. So, very well made, modern, international but possibly totally interchangeable. Where is the classic Rheingau Riesling in this wine?
