Monday, May 8, 2023 - Kicking off t Summer of 2023 w Helmuth Dönnhoff’s fine entry-level Weissburgunder 2020 - a new & pleasant acquaintance wrapped up in complete freshness & purity w hardly no added complexity, quite indispensable for Sun & Summer fun. Greenish-straw in the glass, somewhat cloudy. Nose brings smoke, pepper, just a bit of melon & sweet-touched peach, a slice of cooked lemon. Palate - round yet w fine acidic structure - shows even less fruit, while still being enjoyable, grippy minerality, closing dry, fresh & spicy.
