Sunday, September 26, 2021 - Really enjoyable Syrah from the Yorkville Highlands. Nose of blackberry and spices. TRt blackberry on the palate with some pepper and smoke. Nice fruit on the finish. I’d say this one is medium weight. I’d also say that this one has 2-3 years left of proper storage.

A few reviewers remarked that they detected Brett, which I assume meant the bad kind of Brett that brings barnyard, manure and other nasty smells. I didn’t get that at all, so maybe I got lucky with my bottle as I really enjoyed it. Tasted it at the winery about 3 years ago and liked it a lot so I bought a few bottles, this was my last one. It sucks when you open a bottle and are disappointed, there may be nothing worse.
