Sunday, August 30, 2009 - Some sweet fruit and floral aromatics in the pinot blanc direction but with a weighty style, reminiscent of marsanne.

However, one could also say that it lacks the freshness of the more aromatic cold climate white varietals, just as it misses the more complex marzipan/hazelnut range of flavors of the more upscale white rhone wines. First night we mismatched this with a creamy but salty cheese from Bourgogne which brought out some very dominating orange/apricot preserve sweetness.

But one should perhaps not ask too much. It is absolutely one of the better white wines I've had south-east of Italy.
