Tuesday, April 23, 2013 - pop & pour, the consumed over 3 hours
nose: has that resin-y character, plus deep, ripe apricot/pear aroma. very faint indications of oxidation (which become much more apparent on the palate and were easily overlooked the first hour or so on the nose)
palate: high-toned (in fact almost spirit-like, but without the 'firewater' sensation). Oily and resinous, the fruit is secondary to the pitched and pithed palate direction. A lot of orange peel and orange oil, there is very little sweetness to the fruit. Very interesting. Can't see it pleasing many people, but wine nerds like me may rejoice in such a bottle for $8.
