The taster can be overwhelmed with precision, complexity, length and weightlessness or wanting to cry because of oxidation. Fortunately, I am a happy camper this evening. I admit that I don’t drink Montrachet that often so maybe my rating scale needs to be adjusted down, yet I find this pretty special. Honey, wax and white fruit blends beautifully with salt flats and oyster boats. Medium bodied but glides across the palate. So fresh yet so mature. How can this be? I’m not sure but I absolutely love this bottle of wine. After about 60 minutes, this cool apple skin thing emerges on the nose. A perfect welcome to 70 degrees in Baltimore. (96)
