from rich brown soils and alluvial sands of the Barossa Valley.

Aged 18 months in French oak hogheads (57% new, 43% 1-yr)
14.5% Abv.
History: Founded in 1844 by Dr Christopher and Mary Penfold.
Succeeded by daughter Georgina in 1884. Max Schubert became
its first Chief Winemaker in 1948 and by 1960 turned his
"Grange" project into the legendary icon.

RWT stand for ‘Red Winemaking Trial’, internal name of project starting in 1995.

A(ccuray)=2: Deep ruby/purple. Focused, intense varietal.
B(alance)=3: Ripe fruit with distinctive structure.
C(omplexity)=2: Dark and red fruits, mint, spices, chocolate.
D(epth)=2: Chewy mouthfeel. Full palate and lingering finish.

At best when oak tannin further resolves.
