Wednesday, September 21, 2022 - First taste of first glass, poured immediately after uncorking:
Sour cherry and raspberry on the nose with an undertone of dried mushroom all of which carry over to the palate with the sour cherry dominating then lingering tartly at the finish.
I am going to give this 30 minutes of air to see if it opens up and the sourness gives way at all.

EDIT:
30 minutes in the mushroom shifts to clean loam, the sourness diminishes, and the flavors blossom.
2 hours in and it becomes a well balanced, cheerful expression of terroir and blend. Bright, tart cherry and raspberry give way to a mild peppery warmth which lingers pleasantly.
Not too shabby. Perhaps this could have cellared for another couple years before peak. I don't know -I'm still learning- but that's my hunch.
