Tuesday, May 10, 2011 - Very inky color as usual. Nose is dense smelling with very dark compote of cherries and spice. Palate is extremely fruity on the dark and rich side with pepper and blackberries. In first half hour was somewhat closed but then opened up to more notes of earth and leather and smoke. Then after an hour the tannins started to kick in, but never overbearing. Outstanding all around.
