Monday, October 22, 2012 - Better than before, probably in a sweet spot. What was jammier before is more taught. Nice vibrant acidity, mature fruit. No apparent oak showing, though it has seen oak aging. Firm red berry fruits, heading toward cranberry, although a mix of berries here, with a nice nose of firm and wet forest greenery and fruit flesh. A bit simpler this way, but nicely integrated, moderately complex. I'd be willing to let bottles go longer to watch it evolve. It seems to be doing well now. Overall, a fresh fruited Portuguese red that I expected it to be.
