Monday, February 19, 2024 - Interesting thing about Albariño is there are many many producers I’ve never seen in my Minneapolis St. Paul market. Most local stores offer less than 5 on their shelves. This is another great new one for me. God knows there are far too many ‘plain Jane” versions, just like Chardonnay. As someone else mentioned this btl has much in common with Chablis. It starts out a bit too acidic but quickly fleshes out nicely in glass while filling out its flavor profile with an enticing array of citrus & stone fruit and stony mineral. From the wine list at Cane & Canoe in Maui which has been our best overall dinner of the trip to date w/ amazing ocean views nestled in the northwest side of Maui. Anyhow, I’m on the hunt for this Albariño but kinda doubt its in my market. Loved it and delighted to find it on a well thought out wine list.
