Saturday, September 10, 2022 - This is a superb blend of Grenache Blanc and Macabeo. Grown in "Llicorella"or the slate found all over Priorat, in vineyards with altitudes of 300-500m. Fermented in oak barrels and vats, there is some skin contact. Aged for 12 months in 1.2HL vats, and 6 months in stainless steel. The end result is an amazing, flavourful wine with flowers and a hint of minerality on the nose, while the palate showed a lot of minerality, with quince and pear, and an opulent mouthfeel. It's just a really sumptuous wine. Drank this bottle at Compartir, in Barcelona. An amazing accompaniment to the seafood part of the meal, including clams and sushi tuna - “tuna cannelloni.” It’s drinking well with food, but IMO this will be even better in 3-5 years and should have no problem cruising past age 10.
