Wednesday, May 10, 2023 - Medium-dark garnet in color. Full, forward & highly aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of spice, floral & earthy/dusty notes, forest floor, minerals, some cola notes, herbs & a touch of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, some minerals, herbs, cola & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks well at present although it does have potential for & will benefit from further development with additional aging. Unlike most of the Dutton-Goldfield Pinots I have had, this one is a blend from several various sites. I believe with time, it may merit a higher score (94+) as those nuances meld together. A lovely Pinot.
