Wednesday, January 31, 2024 - Deep, dark reddish-purple in color; almost opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, spices, pepper, olives, tar, minerals, dried herbs & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with a good concentration of ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals & a touch of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks well with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging.
