Friday, March 8, 2024 - greenish pale straw and mildly viscous. lovely herbal and floral notes grace the nose of citric and orchard fruit with whiffs of fresh pineapple and stone. fresh and very smooth in the mouth, fruit layers unfold with elegance and delicate interplay with veins of citric acidity, marine salinity, tropical beeswax, herbal spice, and slatey minerality. integration is such that i had to consciously try to pick out the individual elements… remarkable persistence rounds out the experience.

impeccably balanced to the point of being enjoyable by itself even at this early stage. it needs a bit more time to turn the corner into proper drinkability, but is hinting at excellence at the moment. reminded me of a stellar young GG/1ÖTW Riesling (that's a compliment, BTW); i may be conservative in my rating.

13% AbV; 14-15 months' ageing, of which, for 50-60% of the wine 5-6 months were on fine lees in French oak barrels averaging 6 seasons of use.
