Wednesday, March 7, 2012 - A very fragrant and floral wine with lovely fresh red fruits, slender body, crisp acidity and a pleasant tannic kick on the medium-plus finish. Very attractive and stylish, clearly not a big wine and perhaps with a hint of dryness, but also with a sound structure and balance that allow for further ageing. Amazing how such a light wine has absorbed 38 months of new oak. Excellent if enjoyed straight from the bottle and even straight from the cellar. Recedes into its shell temporarily in the decanter but re-emerges after about an hour with richer textures and aromas - more tarry and oaky. Captivating stuff.
