Monday, April 4, 2016 - Color: medium-deep ruby core (no longer opaque) -> light ruby rim with slight bricking. Complex bouquet of roast beef, bacon fat, anisette, black cherries and blackcurrants. Medium-bodied palate; not a blockbuster but well proportioned and deep. Good purity of Syrah fruit showing plenty of minerality mixed with the olfactory elements; black pepper noted but not obtrusive as it can be in young Cote Rotie. Nice acid level and lengthy finish, I find this to be quite polished and elegant. Drinking well now, I'm not sure this will scale any higher but I think this will go 5-10 more years with no problem.
