Sunday, December 10, 2023 - Deep garnet color and surprising transparency for Barbera despite the deep concentration. Aromas of ripe raspberries and blackberries, tart cherry, faint cocoa and mint. Similar notes on the palate, but the palate is defined by razor sharp acidity. Light to medium tannins, and notes from barrel aging show up more on the palate through the long finish. Gorgeous balance and structure even though the acidity feels strikingly high, I expect things will integrate more and improve with another year or so.
