Friday, April 26, 2024 - Dark reddish garnet in color, essentially opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe red fruit aromas of blueberries, cherries & mulberries with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, spice notes, herbs & minerals. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, plush, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, blueberries & plums, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging. A lovely & enjoyable Barbera. IMHO, there is no way objectively possible that this is a "65" point wine unless it was an off bottle.
