Friday, March 3, 2023 - Second bottle from a full case purchased from the Dutch importer in 2022. En Lutenière is a flat climat east of the RN74 on heavier soils and as such it does well in warm vintages. This rendition by Aurélien Verdet walks the tightrope of the 2020 vintage very successfully. The fruit is ripe and has a relatively dark pitch, but the aromas are fresh and floral with a hint of Asian spice, the palate is silky and harmonious, weight (13% ABV) and balance are perfect, the texture is silky and mild tannins provide gentle frip, the finish has a touch of green apple and good to very good length. Drink now - 2028. Excellent value for money.
