  • Bormes-Le Lavandou Summer holidays 2023-This botlle showed a bit more ripeness with a whiff of cocoa; again great, super elegant, very refined and with a superb aftertaste. I have already asked for a dozen of the '22.

  • You may think I'm crazy, but this bottle was mind boggling. With all the qualities I have described in previous notes this bottle showed also a terrific good and ripe citrus/acidity with a pure raspberry smell and taste that gave, in combination with all its qualities, a very long and pure finish; Vosne 1er Cru level?

  • And again (see my previous notes) 92 points; this bottle showed a whiff of mocha/cocoa combined with the bitters, maybe suggesting a tad more development. I can't wait to taste the '22.

  • Second bottle from a full case purchased from the Dutch importer in 2022. En Lutenière is a flat climat east of the RN74 on heavier soils and as such it does well in warm vintages. This rendition by Aurélien Verdet walks the tightrope of the 2020 vintage very successfully. The fruit is ripe and has a relatively dark pitch, but the aromas are fresh and floral with a hint of Asian spice, the palate is silky and harmonious, weight (13% ABV) and balance are perfect, the texture is silky and mild tannins provide gentle frip, the finish has a touch of green apple and good to very good length. Drink now - 2028. Excellent value for money.

  • Dear Xavier, with some weeks of rest this wine showed more balanced, so this time also 91 points. The wine is refined and, yes, silky, but with depth. From the well dosed vanilla and the hint of wood, the little flowers, the small red fruit, the ripe citrus backbone and the smooth midtaste to the long aftertaste with everything in it that you smelled and tasted before.

  • Dear Xavier, your very enthusiastic tasting notes convinced me to buy this wine. Just a few days after the transport (I could not wait) the wine showed already an admirable complexity, specially in the bouquet with fresh red fruit, violets, iron/tea and a hint of sweet wood (puppy fat like).
In the taste this wine shows persistency, but it does not reach yet the silky elegance of e.g. the '15 Les Lutinières from Frabrice Vigot; no, the wine is more rugged at the moment, but all the components are present; so I expect a very good future and more points for this wine.

  • It is still young but very fresh. Red fruits, strawberry, cherry. I will keep one to taste in couple years time.

  • Fully biological Burgundy. Beautiful color, almost un-Burgundy dark. Fresh, with strawberries and cherries in the nose. Medium palate. Still young of course, so this will improve over the next years to come.

  • First bottle from a full case purchased from the Dutch importer. I have followed this wine for a decade now, and this may be the best one yet. The tension and interplay between freshness and ripeness are exemplary, the aromas of Asian spices, strawberries and black cherries, and flowers are pure and precise, complex and convincing, the medium-bodied palate is flowing and harmonious, silky but with gentle grip from papery tannins, the finish is still a little tight but displays very good resonance and length. Impeccable wine making, resulting in a wine which combines generosity with real finesse. It has more substance than the delightfully ephemeral 2017, more energy than the riper 2018, and more structure than the almost decadent 2019. In the Burgundian context, this is unbeatable value for money.
