Wednesday, January 17, 2024 - Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): Burly and tannic, but definitely a step up from the awfully mediocre wines that Jaboulet has been churning out for decades. Stern and charmless, with black fruit and technically correct winemaking. But this is missing salinity, smoke, meat, and all the things that make syrah syrah. Would love to see what Chave or Graillot could make of this historically important plot.
