NV Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brut

Community Tasting Note

Sunday, February 14, 2010 - No date of disgorgement apparent on the bottle. Bottled-aged for about 15 months after purchase in November 2008. Chilled, but not excessively cold. A pleasing light straw colour - not showing much development. Fine, persistent bead, but not a huge mousse. Familiar nose of lemons, apples and the distinctive Champagne bisuity/yeasty aroma. Crsip, clean palate - appley, with citrus notes. Good mouthfeel and good grip; flavours persist through midpalate and onto the finish. No loss of fizz through the palate. Slightly off-dry note lurking - a pleasant surprise. Good finish. A very nice wine, but not cheap.
