Sunday, August 6, 2023 - Drank at Copake last week. Shocked how well this wine has held up. Obviously showing signs of its age, but youthful aromas of cherries, spice and herbs. Same notes on the palate, along with some remaining oak and vibrant acidity. Lots of sediment here, so worth decanting for that reason alone. Hoping I still have another one of these lying around.

Only enjoyed one @ 8 years - smooth, meaty & a touch of earth.

Now, Copake is S. of Albany. Is there a wine haven there I have missed?

I bought it long ago &, honestly, had forgotten what a top-notch selection it was. I just grabbed it from the wine fridge with some family at the vacay house (that's in Copake, btw) for dinner and only then realized what I had in my glass. (not the sort of wine-related thing that happens to me very often; I'm usually much more aware). Anyway, great bottle which I prob shld've scored higher than 92. As for Copake--which is less than an hour SE of Albany, NY, I guess those who know me would very likely say it is indeed a stellar wine haven (privately held, of course) that's worth the visit, lol. Long way from BC tho...Cheers!
