Saturday, December 29, 2007 - Decanted for 1 hour prior to pouring. Very typical PN color; dark but pale red, able to see fingers through the backside. Nose is very bland. I really had to try to smell much of anything. I know I am just finishing up with a cold, but really, I smelled very little. First taste: fairly tart fruit. Very little mid-palate. Honestly, pretty one-dimensional. Good tannin structure though. It goes from a tart fruit in the beginning, skips the mid-palate, the tannins then kick in, but not too harsh; mild chewiness. A little bit of mouth puckerin' action and then ends with about a 10-second finish. The "one-dimension'ality'" of this wine and the lack of any nose at all really hurts this PN. Too bad, I had good hopes for this one.
