Tuesday, November 7, 2023 - First of 12. It pours black from the bottle. The nose is quite ripe, but also shows complexity with violets, blue fruits, black pepper and smoked meats. The palate is rich, with a very long finish. The acidity is balanced, the tannins are very fine and do not dry out the finish at all. The 14.5% shows just a bit hotter than what I prefer, but the wine still feels elegant and balanced despite this. I feel like this is a tightly wound wine that needs time. It's great now, but should be way better in a few years. 94+
