Wednesday, March 14, 2012 - Soft and delicate compared to the St. Clement. In some ways it was hard to go back to a wine like this after such a big Howell Mountain Cab. Soft medium bright cherries, pink rose petals, soft white and pink peppercorn, and a nice dose of fresh new horse saddle.
Elegant and feminine styling. I've heard PC wines often are New World driven showing lots of plump ripe fruit drive; I didn't really feel this in this sampling. There was plenty of earth, iron and dusty tannins. A great wine that is best appreciated by an avid drinker. Many at the gathering preferred the St. Clement 04 Howell Mountain over this beauty - to each their own.
