Sunday, January 1, 2012 - Almost port like in appearance. Dense, dark purple, plenty of legs. On the nose, un-mistakeable Chilean cabernet, cedar, some leather, star fruit?, creme de cassis. On the palate, same as nose but quite minerally, loamy, graphite with still focused tannins and some acidity and alcohol. Thought this would be over the hill but it is still drink ing well, could improve if it eventually reaches its balance but not sure it will.
