Tuesday, May 9, 2023 - I celebrated Quilceda Day with a 2019 Palengat and this bottling may be the most underappreciated of the bunch but not by me, anymore. Upon opening it was immediately reminiscent of the style the Columbia Valley Cab had in the earlier 2000's. I chose the review of the 2007 Quilceda Columbia Valley Cab by Jay S Miller to describe in a way I can't. I think this is an apt description of this wine.

"This multi-dimensional offering surrenders an inviting bouquet of sandalwood, Asian spices, violets, truffle, black currant, and blackberry. Seamless on the palate with no hard edges, it is mouth-coating, powerful, and exceptionally light on its feet all at the same time. Impeccably balanced and with plenty of fine-grained tannin in the background."

That sums it up better than I could for sure. Great wine!! Thanks to Scott and the team at Quilceda for the easy 2020 pick up today.

I will be getting more Palengat in the future.

Just smelled it again...what a beautiful wine!!
