Sunday, October 30, 2005 - Straight ruby on color. Clearly hot on nose when 1st opened. THIS WINE NEEDS AT LEAST 10-15 mins to block the OH off. Fruit forward candied cherry on nose combined slightly with a spicy light rhubarb note. Maybe a little strawberry. Very soft oak. Softness predominates over tannins (which are very light) on the palate, but still has a hint of spicyness. I wanted more than heat and fruit for this price (points off for this). I expected a little bit of subtlety out of this wine for the price, and it has little. Concentration of flavors is off here a little as well.
