Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, April 20, 2010 - I got this on close-out at "only" $100. It was vinegar. We could not drink it. Foul stuff. I see Vickers on line has it at $79. so I don't think i got a great price on this bad wine.

After one day I tasted it again. it is not as bad as yesterday but still not enjoyable.
I have an awful feeling after reading some other posts here (Will the thrill) that this stuff may normally taste like this. Sort of like sour tea. yukk.

Hard to believe this is the same wine others are raving over though. I still think this bottle was poorly stored and is over the hill.

On the third day it was better, but still sour tasting. My wife drank some while I was upstairs so there was not enough to return to the store.

I found that adding 3 parts Potensac 2005 to 1 part of this stuff made it almost enjoyable, so we drank it. Pretty wasteful though,

considering the potensac was better straight and 1/3 the price.

what a lesson. I still cannot accept that this wine was not spoiled somehow. It also gave me a headache.

Surely there is would be a very small audience for such tasting stuff at this price. I will probably never try this again.

And by the way I have always liked pomerols before and considered them elite wines,.
